Sometimes, it's when he reads it that I learn the most. You have to have some of that cringe factor -- another person's eyes can really throw a spotlight on awkward or corny scenes. Once a month my friends and I have Writer's Night, we get a chance for good feedback, as well as getting a feel for how the words sound out loud. <br /><br />Pacing is huge for me, but its something I'd never really discover unless I read out loud I have serious comma issues, so if I find myself taking too many breath in one sentence, I know I have an issue. Reading out loud also helps me discover how effective or honest the dialogue is.
