LOL- I don't suppose a real significant other would take to kindly to #1- however, a random guy/gal at the bar might work just dandy. LOL
Love #5! And I could see using #1 to avoid going out with someone.
Hahaha, these are great! I use these kinds of excuses when I don't want to make dinner, LoL.
I wish I could use #2 once in awhile, but the family in question would never accept such a response. Maybe one day, when my writing is generating some kind of real income for me, it'll be different. Maybe.
But I love #4 and #5!

Writerly excuses are the most fun, and no one really gets them but other writers :)
Those are great excuses, but I have to echo Alex on the last one - I don't think I could get away using that with my husband . . .or even my kids.
