If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

NaNo Prompt 2

Wow, what a week! Ready for NaNo Prompt 2?

Tomorrow I will be attending an open mic night at a local coffee house and reading some poetry. I'm super excited about this. Has anyone else read at an open mic night?

I have decided to write as many short stories as I can instead of a novel for NaNo- Which I can then revise later. I have two completed so far. Don't know if I can actually make it to 50,000 words this way- but what the heck, atleast I'll have new material to use.

I've also decided it's much easier to blog daily then think up story ideas...Sighs...

For anyone just coming to my blog- I'm only posting twice a week for NaNo  (mondays and thursdays) and they will be writing prompts.December I will resume my daily blogposts

 My stats:
Times screamed at my fairy muse:6
Nervous breakdowns: 0
Number of pens thrown across the room: does wanting to throw a few count?
Days word count has been slacked:1
Best daily word count to date: 2,160

Days stapled finger: 1

(Since I know everyone will ask- my daughter wanted to use my tiny stapler, and so here I was in the middle of word count, and I had to stop mid-line and load a stapler. I pushed down on the end to click it in place- and it pushed a staple right through the side of my finger! My daughter gawked at me and then made a sick face as I pulled it from my finger and blood came from both holes...LOL- and yes it hurt, no I wont be doing that again anytime soon!)

Exercise: Taken from "Unjournaling" by Dawn DiPrince and Cheryl Miller Thurston. pg 19

 "WHINE, BELLYACHE, COMPLAIN, MOAN, CRITICIZE
Create a conversation that uses some form of each of these words."

Remember you do not have to specifically use this, make it match whatever you are writing, incorporate it into some part of your story.
Silly question: Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?

I don't do public speaking in any form unless someone has slipped me drugs, then I ramble for hours saying nothing. :)

? answer: Same reason they use to include a string that ran outside to a bell. Mistakes are made and no one wants to show their mistakes :D

Good luck at open-mic night! What a great venue for putting your words out there, at a coffeehouse. Enjoy, and I hope you'll post about it.

Great job on the best daily word count.

And what a unique idea, using NaNo to reach your short story goals. I like it.

Congrats on participating in NaNo and way to go on the word count! I like the idea of short stories. If you need some creative inspiration, go down to your local Walmart and walk around. Notice the merchandise. The people. The whatever. I bet you come home with SEVERAL stories. Works for me. Only I never seem to write them down. :)

Let me know how that works for you. Love the prompt! And thanks for stopping my my blog when you're in the middle of NaNo. I'm touched.

Great post, that rebel, Olivia

Your muse is so abused.
Good luck with the open mic. Not a chance I'd do that!

Ouch, hope you're up to date on your tetanus shops. I so here you about posting less. Alas, while doing my edits I'm posting more. But I need the break to brag.
Speaking of which, I posted about giveaways and contest today, including my first ever contest.
P.S. Summer, I hope Casper the not so friendly has moved on.

Ouch! - I was hole-punching papers once and the brackets to a file folder (back in the old days) were up and when my hand came down, my thumb got staked by one of the brackets. Needless to say I never did that again. Be careful! And doing a bunch of short stories sounds awesome. Good luck! :D

Not even with a gun to my head!!!!!

I was playing with a stapler once and it went through my thumbnail all the way to the other side! It must be the mark of writers to maim themselves.....

Nailing down the lid of the coffin ....humm....that is worth pondering.

Oh dear, I hope you're okay!

Good luck with the open mic - that's very very brave and I'm very very impressed. Public speaking always makes me want to toss my cookies.

I love your NaNo stats, way too cute!!!

I love your idea for doing Short Stories as well, at least you're still writing and working on stories!

Wow... open mic night! No way could I get up in front of a crowd and share that. I know it's something I need to get over, but I know it'll take time!
