If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

Nano prmpt 6: figurative language

Hey everyone! How is Nano coming for you all?
Mine is slow going but I'm managing. I'm still UNDER 11,000 words, but Its okay for me.

I've been busy translating English to french, Reading for classes, and writing papers. So I haven't had a great deal of time.

For today's prompts, I'd like to use similes.

See if you can finish these sentence for similes and incorporate one into your writing:

  1. As heavy as
  2. As cold as
  3. As hard as
  4. She had skin like a
  5. As cool as
  6. As quick as
  7. He was slow like a
  8. Slippery like a
and a picture to inspire you all:

Hi Summer! Thanks for the challenge :)

As heavy as sorrow
As cold as power
As hard as judgement
She had skin like moonlight
As cool as midnight
As quick as wit
He was slow like a lazy afternoon
Slippery like a dream

There's my take on them!

As for using one ... hmmm .. now there's a challenge!

Oh the pic!! Wow!!!!!

I've very bad with similes... already I'm using non-imaginative ones like "as cool as a cucumber!"

Good luck with your nano (these are precious 10160 words you have!!) and french translation!!!

Take care

TOO HARD! To resist:
As heavy as guilt
As cold as winter's leaching lick and bite
As hard as a quantum physical
She had skin like warmed silk
As cool as dropping mist
As quick as the movement you spy in the corner of your eye
He was slow like a downtown traffic
Slippery like shell fragments in raw egg

Hi Summer. You got some great attempts at similes. I love doing these but it takes time. Good on you for NaNo. I've got 16,000 words to go so shouldn't be here but thought I'd just pop in and say hi and bye!

Happy tapping!

I heart comments~~ You all Rock my world!
