New creations Blogfest Entry

I am 29 yrs old today!!!

Welcome everyone to my New creations blogfest. I can't wait to read everyone's 2 sentences! Thank you all so very much for participating!

My rules are simple, one sentence is your favorite last line from one story last year.

and one brand new sentence to start something new.

The list of everyone who joined is at the top of this post, just click and go read.

 Here are mine:

My favorite last line from one of my short stories is from a ghost story I wrote...
"The breeze ruffled Alise’s hair and she walked back into the truly empty apartment knowing the shadow that had tormented her all these years was gone."

and my brand new starting sentence for a new story for this year is:
"He kissed her shoulder and the familiar pop in her back told her it was time to leave before feathers sprang up one by one."

The first is quite dark, the second has a much lighter, funnier tone. Nice job, Summer!

Happy Birthday Summer....hope you are being srnkled in fairy sparkles!
Love your sentences, there's a menace about the first...'truly empty' is rather sinister.
The second brings a smile.
This is a fun blogfest!

Duh, I totally went brain dead and forgot to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I love both of them but the new one has my imagination going. :) Off to check out the others.

Have a wonderful, fairy filled birthday my friend!

Happy birthday Summer!

I like your two sentences. The first has a definite feel of finality to it, and somehow I know that despite everything it's going to be alright. The second gets me wondering - very tantalising!

Great blogfest - I left it a bit too late to participate, but it's a fun idea.

Have a lovely day.

Summer Ross said...

Tony- its not to late, just link your name at the end- there is still all day! Thank you for your birthday wishes.

Great lines! The first (or rather last) one has a fantastic sense of closure. The first sentence (or rather the second..ooooh you know what I mean) is intriguing, fairly challenging the reader to go on and find out exactly what is going on.

Happy Birthday,

T.x

Mysti~ LOL I don't mind getting older, I'm still carded for cigarettes and bars. :)

tessa~ thank you

I can't wait to see what happens in the new project. That first sentence certainly got my attention! Thanks for the blogfest!

SO, is this a real 29 or the kind that happens for many years in a row?

Summer Ross said...

Erin- I can safely admit it is the real 29 :)

Summer- Happy B-Day and I really appreciate you hosting this. It was very fun.

#1-Well done and it provides enough detail, that I want to know who the shadow belonged to.

#2-Very nice word play in this one.

Happy Birthday, Summer! I hope you are having a wonderful day.

I'm intrigued by both your stories. The last line seems to come from a dark and disturbing story - just the kind I like. The first line must be a fairy story, I think. The use of the word pop is brilliant, it makes the line 'pop' out.

Happy Birthday Summer! Finally got mine posted in honor of you old and new year! Your new sentence looks fun and interesting. I'll be checking on the other blogs the rest of the day!

Happy Birthday from me, too! Love the tinkerbelle pic up there.

Sentence 1: gives a sense of relief and closure, a nice ending. Makes me want to know what that shadow was, exactly.

Sentence 2: Very intriguing! Feathers? Does she have wings? What is she? Definately want to know more, which makes it a great first sentence!

Happy Birthday!

That is an interesting new line. At first I wasn't sure about it but then the feather part came in and it tied the picture together. Sounds enticing and hope there will be more in the future. :-D

Roland D. Yeomans said...

That ending sentence is heavy with echoes of pain and sad victory.

The opening sentence is a great hook, dragging the reader onto the next sentence. Sadly, it is not there. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUMMER. May your 29th year be filled with only happy surprises.

Oh, thanks to your blog, I received a visit from Fallen of the last sentence with a demand. Sigh. Fallen angels ... there's just no pleasing them. LOL.
