On my summer vacation…
Wait! What vacation? I was a busy little fairy all summer. But I signed up for Michael @ In Time's Summer Vacation blogfest. I have a writers conference today and a doctors appointment, so I wont be around much. However I promise to get to you as soon as I can. On with the blogfest (He said pictures are a must)
I scrambled through laborious papers and old literature.
In the midst of the sketchy writing, I did manage to help my manly man with a yard sale,
Then at one point we packed a cooler, grabbed some chairs and headed for the man made lake here in Casper called Edness Kimble Wilkins, which also doubles as a bird park and walking area.
I spent hours and hours nonstop of reading and writing to have an entire weekend free to take my family up to Denver.
Finally, right before school started back up again. My manly man and I were at his trailer. We walked outside about ten that evening and started stepping all over Salamanders in the yard- migrating. Manly man was so excited he got a big clear bucket and we caught about 30 of them in ten minutes.(sorry the picture is blurry because I took it on my phone.)

Where we went to water world
Found the Aquarium with all sorts of neat fish,
and managed to get lost on our way to the Zoo
Then after we came home I had my daughter's tenth birthday to plan for!

What did you do this summer?

Wow, your summer sounds like it was really busy, but fun (at least the trip to Denver, not so sure about the non-stop writing/reading... hope some of it was, at least).
I didn't do anything too exciting over the summer. I got an internship with a local news station, visited my parents, and took a family vacation to seattle, but that was about it.
Holy smokes, now that's a big bucket of salamanders! How cool!
Sounds like you had a great summer, Summer. ;)
Awesome pics and super cute kids!!
Wrote. Worked on edits and rewrites. Hair lopped. Cleaned house. Did laundry. Walked the dogs. Cooked. And repeat.
Sounds like you kept busy. What did you do with all the salamanders?
OMG, summer is over? Why was I not told? :)
Checking in from the abyss.

Wow - look at those salamander!
Well it looked like you had a most productive and busy summer! Yay!! Take care

I'm tired just reading your list! No salamanders. That would've been wild to see.
At least you got some mini-adventures in! And writing! And reading! I'd say you didn't do too badly.
What I didn't do was catch salamanders. Or go to Denver - a city I love, btw. Not so much love for salamanders, though.
Wow, sounds like a super busy summer! I was just chilling and relaxing a lot. :)
Hi, Summer,
You have had a busy summer. I'm glad to SEE you had fun even though you had lots of writing to do.
The girls look they had a ball! Loved the aquarium pics.
Thanks for sharing you fun with us.
Oh man, I used to catch salamanders when I was a kid. They are creepy, cool things. Sounds like you had a fun summer. :)
I've been to the Denver Zoo! It's been awhile - lovely city. Sounds like a great summer ~ :) Thanks for sharing!
What a great summer! Beach time is always fun, we skipped it this year and hung out at a family pool. Can't wait for next year though.
Have a great weekend! :)
I would've gone with you to Denver! Beautiful town. And look at the little salamanders. I didn't know they migrated.
It sounds like you had a busy summer!
I love the bucket of salamanders.
Sounds like you had a great summer, Summer. :D
Don't beat yourself up, those are some pretty great memories! And love the bucket of salamanders - we did that when I grew up, too, but we don't have any where I live now. However, my kids found a couple baby turtles last week we've got in an aquarium in our dining room right now!
Does your 10-year-old watch Phineas and Ferb? And does the theme song relentlessly go through your head like it does mine? If so, you might relate to my post today. Happy fall!

That's so cool about the salamanders! Also your trip to Denver looked like a blast as well. I'd love to take my daughter to a water part next year.
Nice photos! Can't imagine dealing with all those salamanders. Hate to see the summer gone.

That fish was really creepy looking. So glad to see you got away with the family.
