If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

8 sentences from my novel Bloodstone

To take her mind off everything, she grabbed the envelope off the night table. She flipped it open and pulled out a white card laced with black ribbon. The hand written card revealed the first challenge. A high-heel race set for dusk tomorrow evening. Evidently, every “lady” should know how to run in high heels.

Ebony looked down at her three-inch footwear, her feet already sore from wearing them a couple of hours. How in the hell would she manage to race in them?

The smell of garbage floated up again.

Hi Summer - the thought of putting on high heels finishes me off! I think shell have to morph into a fairy to find out what the 2nd challenge is ..

Garbage floating up .. not on a cloud of garbage though ...

Interesting - cheers Hilary

I would so lose that race. Not a lady.

Wow, intriguing, especially with the mention of the garbage at the end. I hope she doesn't break an ankle LOL. Terrific snippet!

Oh interesting but running in heels? I can't even wear them. Nice snippet with great descriptive narrative and pov.

I love heels, and cut-in wedges even more, but there is no-way-in-hell I would voluntarily race in them. I wish your MC every success in her highly-dangerous race ;)

I once saw a news snippet of men racing in high heels. Now, THAT was funny! Great snippet. I really enjoyed it.

Very nice. Garbage? Mysterious!

God bless her! I couldn't run in high heels if someone paid me. I have a hard enough time walking in them, but thankfully I'm a tall girl and I don't have much need for them. Fabulous eight! :)

Oh, I feel for her. That race sounds dangerous. And what is up with the garbage at the end? Very interesting.

Holy moly - that is going to be an interesting read to see how that goes!

Can't imagine trying to run in high heels! Good luck to her. Interesting end note, with the garbage. Looking forward to the next instalment.

High heels? I tried them a time or two in my young and foolish days, but I never got beyond a hobble.

I think the race will be really funny.

Ouch. I can't even walk in heels let alone race in them! Great eight, Summer

I'm cringing for her. I don't wear heels if I can help it and I certainly can't imagine racing in them.

Run in high heels? Are they crazy? That must be a skill, one I do not have :)

A race in stiletto heels... that would be a challenge. But your last line has me intrigued. What's with the garbage?

Running in high heels. Loved it. Been there. Very painful. But how will her race go?

This has all kinds of intriguing bits! The handwritten card, the high heel race. . . I'm looking forward to more.

Wow, first I'm so feeling her pain at the idea of running in heels (I'd lose that in a big way), then the smell of garbage? What's that about??? VERY curious...nice 8!

~Ahem~ A high "heel" race.

Oy! lol... Well, perhaps it was a Freudian sort of slip--I reckon racing in high heels is hell. ;-)
