If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

Boofest- True story entry!

Hello Friends! Are you ready for my True Ghost story for Quinns' Boofest?
 Here are the rules---
It must be a true story!!!

So  bit of background here- Things attack me in my dreams- and without further explanation here is what happened.

Ever since I was a small child Something has always been after me. Its a feeling I get when I'm all alone in my room reading, the hair on the back of my neck stands up...I'm suddenly pulled from my romance novel, or school work, or even a TV show...and I look directly towards whatever is in my room, only there isn't a single thing there! Nothing out of place!

The lights are on, but something watches...lurks on the side...only my body reacts and my mind follows.
I used to have a room beside my parents...My sister came to visit one summer and this thing was always there. I couldn't hardly sleep. Well with her with me it should be better right? No...wrong..very very wrong.

After my sister and I finally fell to sleep we both woke up startled...something heavy lay across the both of us. We couldn't talk...we could feel each other struggling under the weight...but there wasn't anyone there. A few seconds later we were able to sit up.

She looked at me, I looked at her and we spent the rest of the night with our bedroom light on in complete silence.

She hated sleeping with me after that. We told Mom- but all she did was take out the bible and read it aloud in our room. It did leave me alone for a while. Instead of actually coming into my room...it would pace just outside the door.

I left the bathroom and hallway light on every night. Still I saw nothing. The only thing reminding me of its presence aside from my bodies reaction was the slow continued step of feet sliding across carpet in front of my bedroom door.

My oldest brother used to sit inside my room until I feel to sleep at night. I never asked him if he heard it.

I was 18 when I moved in with Fiance at the time. We had a little trailer house, and when I got scared I would turn on a lamp and be able to go back to sleep. His mother blessed the house because I was always scared, and so while I was awake nothing really happened. I could feel it, but it never touched me until one night.

My Guy and me were rough housing in the bedroom. I tickled him and he scooted across the bed to get away from me- when he turned around he had the most horrid look on his face. His lips were blue and held up in a weird smile. His eyes were white- as if they had rolled to the back of his head. And just as soon as I had seen him, the vision was gone. I was way freaked out. he calmed me down we watched a funny movie and went to bed.

As I lay there in slumber a dream came to me. A dark form was following me and every time I turned around it would disappear. I was anxious and upset so I turned on my lamp, only the black form blew out the bulb. I got up and ran to the kitchen, but the light refused to work, I ran to the living room and just as I was switching the light on it hit me full force and I woke up in time to be thrown across the room!

It still follows me, It always comes to me in my dreams. His presence (I think its a he) is always with me, in every house.

omg! I am totally freaked out--but I've actually heard of stuff like that happening. The waking up and not being able to move thing... I remember being very little once and coloring in a room by myself and feeling very distinctly that something was watching me... EEK!!! THAT scares me~ :D

Happy Halloween!

yuck! Sounds like you need you some guardian angels stat. (if it is, indeed a true story) I have had experiences like the one you describe (waking up with someone on me but no one's there, hair raising on the back of my neck and 'feeling' a presence) But then I started praying...really praying for protection and imagining a white light first around myself, then around my home and those in it, then stretched out all the way to the top of the world, and then the universe. I was never, ever bothered again. If you pray for protection (and believe in it) you will get it. Scary stuff!

Oh wow. That's truly scary!! I hope that Something/Someone goes away soon - he sounds like a very restless spirit to be following you for so long!! I wonder what it/he wants??

Thanks for sharing - take care!

How unnerving. If must be aweful to have to live with an unsettled spirit. Take care of yourself. Have you tried to confront it? Ask it what it wants? It's sad that these spirits have to haunt the innocent living.

Wow! I'm glad you could participate and share this. I just wanna make sure I'm understanding though, after you woke up you were thrown across the room? Or in the dream?

I've had similar experiences with faces shifting, but it's always been my own face that flashes into something else when I pass or look into a mirror. It's still pretty terrifying though. Did your fiance feel any different or realize that anything had happened?

Yikes. That's very scary. I've always had those feelings of "being watched," but never like that. Only sometimes when I go places that have that kind of energy. Thankfully nothing has followed me around or interacted with me like that. My husband lived in a house once, though, that had a presence that liked to trip people on the stairs, or touch his mother in the kitchen. After his family left the house, another family moved in and the presence didn't like them. It stood at the end of their bed and told them, "get out of my house." So they did.

As soon as I finished reading this I literally said, "Oh. My. God." out loud. Seriously, this was a scary story to read. Why does this man want to taunt you, I wonder. Thank you so much for participating. Yours is currently topping the most frightful to read through for me. What is it about all of us who have these experiences?

My husband had something similar following him for years. I would rebuke it and it would go away for awhile but always come back. I finally told my husband to take the Lord's name and rebuke it himself. He was in the shower when he did what I said. Everything flew off the sides at him and then it rushed out of the bathroom. My daughter was going down the stairs and it knocked her papers out of her hand. And then it was gone and has never come back.
You can email me if you like and I will try to help you. But I strongly believe you have to rebuke it yourself.

That was really suspenseful. You should develop that into a nice paranormal suspense story. I'd read it.

Great storytelling!

Do you sometimes get a feeling of total dread settling on you just before you fall asleep.

Does it sometimes feel as if a terrible dark cold settles over you?

Sorry to ask, but I'm quite worried about this. Things of that nature shouldn't be left to lurk around your house.

Misha- Dread- ha! I'm not even sure there is a word that covers it. Its a feeling alright- like I'm being held in place right before i fall asleep. I'm still awake and it scares me- but the feeling stays. My body starts tingling all over and I keep repeating in my head- "open your eyes! Open your eyes! it will go away" But I can't make my eyes open...and then its gone and my eyes shoot open and my whole body shakes.

Oh that's scary. I wouldn't sleep well. Do you?

If you get a chance, I'm hosting a Halloween Haunting at my blog "Substitute Teacher's Saga" from 10/28-11/1 if you want to join in. There are prizes!

Lord Fairy Child, what a spook story. I'd buy a cross, carry garlic in my pockets, take showers in holy water and sleep with a bible in my hands. This definitely ought to be written as a short story. :D

I think I would seek some psychic healers, clairvoyants or whatever. I draw a pentagram around my house when I am alone and I feel safe within it. Look for a group of wiccans and ask them for help. Go to paranormal stores and ask for help. This is simply awful. You should not settle for living with it. If you live sear Sedona that would be a great place to start.

If the mother of your partner reading the Bible kept it at bay outside your room, you might consider reading something like the 23rd psalm every night before retiring.

There are realms beyond the line of sight : where atoms sizzle with the fires of creation, where germs greedily divide to multiply, where light-year long strands of dark matter pierce the cosmos, ... and where He who sang the universe to life stands ready to step between you and your adversary -- you need only to ask.

Thanks for dropping by my blog and commenting. It was a dream I had on my terrace. And while a little frightening, it was the later nightmare of me awakening in my bed to see the dark form of Lucifer sitting in a chair, waiting to mock me with questions in the dark that truly disturbed me.

You will be in my prayers. Roland
