If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

1st Crusader challenge and a birthday!

Hello every one- Its Friday (I posted early)

Before I get to far into this post I want to highlight a wonderful Hobbit by the name of C.N. Nevets. It is his birthday and he has free gifts- because hobbits give out gifts on their birthdays. Go check it out and tell him Happy Birthday HERE

On to the crusader challenge!

Getting to know me in 300 words or less

Noises come from both my hands
A bloviate of sound.
I cuddle into blankets
Akin to rabbit down.

I’m loyal to the nth degree
There is no fuliguline.
I traveled ‘cross the ocean once
And drank some great white wine.

I write with pen and paper
To bring my thoughts about.
I once saw a man blade dance
He really went all out.

Smoking is a nasty thing
But I can’t seem to quit.
I had fun creating this
And that’s the end of it.

I  have revealed something about me that isn’t strictly true, can you guess what it is?
I will reveal the Lie tomorrow...

That's a fun poem, Summer. I'm going to guess, and it is a guess -- writing longhand.

Hard decision! I'm torn between smoking and blade dancers. Blade dancer is way cooler. Good poem!

My first guess is that you recently gave up smoking OR that you've never traveled 'cross the ocean.

Fun poem! And impressive, considering the prompt words we had to slip in! I'm going to throw out this guess: you aren't really (or still) a smoker??

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for linking to my birthday post! I hope people come and take advantage of the giveaways.

And I love the getting-to-know-you poem!

And my guess, for the heck of it, is that you don't do white wine.

I really liked you poem, Summer.

I going to guess the lie is smoking.

Great poem Summer. I am going to guess it is the smoking. Very clever how you used bloviate and fuliguline. Very clever!

I'm guessing you've crossed the ocean twice. Had to go home, now didn't you? ; ) Great poem.

Good poem. I'm curious of the lie.

Good point about having to cross the ocean twice but I'm not sure you would have thought of that while you were writing. I think you don't use blankets. A duvet instead, or just sheets.

This is a nice poem. And I finally understand the Crusader challenge thing because I went to Rachael's blog (I should have checked that first). Great use of the fugli...word.

the smoking was my guess as well for the lie

Hi Summer! I stopped by to tell you that you are the winner of the Brigitta book giveaway over at The White Forest, only to find this delightful poem. I'll wager it's the blade dancing - I have no idea what that is.

I'll need your address to send the book. You will have your choice as the new edition and e-book are also available. You can e-mail me privately at info (at) danikadinsmore (dot) com

I love your poem!! So awesome! :D I'm curious to see what your lie is!

Awe.Some! I'll guess that the lie is...you smoke?

Angela Scott said...

Great poem. I'm impressed. For some reason, most of my poems start out, Roses are red (I'm not a very good poet). Very nice.

The lie . . . you do not write with pen and paper.

Kerrin said...

awesome poem!
My guess on your lie....you haven't seen a blade dancer

Stina said...

I have no idea what blade dance means, but I'm going to go with the smoking one.

Tanya Reimer said...

ohh, tricky, I'll guess that you never smoked.

Louise Wise said...

"Write with pen and paper", surely not?

Crusader saying hi.

Fun, now let me see. Hmmmm.
I'm guessing the 'lie' is watching a blade dance and that the smoking was your secret? It's a fairy-worthy poem either way. :)

I'll check in tomorrow to see how wrong I am. :)

I like it, I can't decide between the blade dancing and smoking.

I'm useless at poetry, so of course, I have the greatest admiration for poets.

Terrific poetry! I am terrible at rhyming but appreciate when anyone else does it! I am going to guess that you don't like wine also.

erica and christy said...

I'm going to say you don't smoke. And I will reveal that I had no idea fuliguline and wine rhymed. :)

Great poem. I really enjoyed getting to know you a little more. I am going to guess maybe you didn't travel across the ocean once. Maybe you have crossed more than once. :) New follower and fellow crusader saying Hello!

Witless Exposition said...

Great job! Really impressed with the rhyming you've done. Would never have come up with the wine and the fulig--oh, whatever that duck word was! I'm going to guess that your fib is writing in long hand. If you do, I'm really impressed. Every time I try, it comes out a mess.

J. Summerset said...

lol I did a poem too. I'm gonna pick noises coming from your hands because I don't think you're an X-man.

Sylvia said...

fun poem!

I go with longhand! :)

Rachael Harrie said...

Ooh, love it!!! Yep, I'm going to have to go with smoking being the lie ;)

Can't wait to find out :)

Hugs,

Rach

Excellent poem!

I love your poem!

My guess would be that the lie is you don't smoke.

Unknown said...

I think.... I think you HAVEN'T seen a man blade dance? Or maybe... you've never traveled across the ocean?! Darn, these are hard! Well done with the poem though :-)

Unknown said...

Hmm.. the lie is... seeing a man blade dance? Or, wait, crossing the ocean?
Darn, these are so hard to guess!
Well done for the poem though :-)

Great poem! Hmm, I think the lie is that you smoke.

Lisa Potts said...

Loved the poem. I would have to guess your lie is that you write with pen and paper.

Patricia A. Timms-McGehee said...

Great job!

I'm going with blade dancing. However, if this is true, I need to see what that is exactly to believe it. haha!

Unknown said...

I'm going to have to go with "There is no fuliguline." as the lie. :)

Hello fellow crusader!

Scheherazade said...

Too tough to guess. I think smoking is your lie.

kar_took said...

It seems a bit obvious to be smoking...but I can't think of anything else. (I know I'm a bit late to the challenge but I'm not cheating by looking at your next post. Honest.)
