If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.

Poof- Flash fiction 2nd crusade challenge.

The second crusade challenge is under works:
The rules according to miss Rach:
"Write a flash fiction story (in any format) in 100 words or less, excluding the title. Begin the story with the words, “The goldfish bowl teetered” These four words will be included in the word count.

If you want to give yourself an added challenge (optional, and not part of the judging criteria), see if you can write the story in your own genre (eg if you’re a horror writer, write a horror story; a romance writer, a romance story, etc)."

My flash fiction story: -Poof-

The goldfish bowl teetered at the top of a maple tree. I am the fairy goldfish, how did a fairy like me end up a fish? Let’s just say fairy dust isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I was minding my sprinkle practice, its hard work you know, when a dragonfly zipped into my pouch. Dragonfly plus fairy dust equals mischief magic. As my hand pulled out a pinch of dust, sprinkles ran down my arm- poof fairy goldfish, my pouch fell to the toadstool, poof bowl on top a tree. Please help?

The bird turned and flew away.

What I love about this challenge is that even with the first words the same, the stories are all so different.

Wow! That's great, Summer. I can't seem to get my head around flash fiction but you seem to have a good handle on it. A fairy goldfish? Fabulous!

That's hilarious! I feel bad for the fairy, although she strikes me as a bit of a mischief-maker - maybe another fairy sent the dragonfly? I hope she gets out of the tree and back into fairy form soon :D

Lovely little world you've created there :D

are faries mean to birds - is this a come back time? or is he off for help - maybe thinking 'I must lay of the hemp seeds'!!! and why blame the dragon fly - I'm sure mischeivous faries have something to do with it - and look out Maple tree a cross fairy might just blast you!!!!

Yes, I liked this very much, except of course, that it feels like there isn't quite an ending yet. Maybe you could write a flash sequel where the fish fairy is able to figure out a plan B?
