If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

X- Xeranthemum annuum (everlasting)

An everlasting flower...Oh the inspiration that results from such a thing.

link to photo
Xeranthemum annuum- mostly widely cultivated species of everlasting flowers having usually purple flowers; southern Europe to Iran; naturalized elsewhere.

I'm not a very good plant person- I'm told by my family I have a black thumb and my shadow should never cross the path of anything I wish to live- plant related. LOL Kids- they come up with strangest things.

Do you grow plants? Have you tried the Immortal flower?
What's the first thing that came to your mind when you saw the picture of the everlasting flower?

I've got one of those black thumbs as well. I like to appreciate from afar.

Hi Summer .. I bought some flowers with these in ... once the live flowers died, I took the blue everlastings out and put them in a vase in a Nursing Centre patient's room .. and yesterday we remarked that they're still going four months on ...!! So great X post ...

I love the vibrancy of the blue .. and the white too as here .. cheers Hilary

First thought - I bet we could kill it. Yeah, we don't do well with plants either.

I've tried moonflowers. Mother and I grew them along our back fence back in the day of lost innocence and childhood dreams. Great post.

I'm not great in the garden, I name most flowers by colour only ;) I always get the job of planting them - re-potting etc. I think your flower looked beautiful - I thought of an unldoding gift.

Reminds me of Beauty and the Beast! I love gardening. Our old house was perfect for a veggie garden - save the deer. Our tomato plants were way taller than me (and I'm 5'10".) Our new house is in the woods. I've lined our driveway discretely with veggie plants... I hope they grow, and that the HOA doesn't throw a fit. Only time will tell...

I'm almost as bad - I have a brown thumb. Spiderplants are the only thing I can grow.

My mother is a wonderful gardener, and knows everything about plants. She did not pass that talent down to me, however. :)

I love that photo. It looks like it's made of tissue paper.
