8 Sentences from my novel ~ Bloodstone ~
“Ebony?” a soft feminine voice
whispered.
All the hairs on Ebony’s arms
stood at attention as a cold chill sank into her bones pulling her out of
memories. She turned toward the voice and saw nothing, “Wh..who’s there?”
“Don’t be afraid my dear. It’s me,
sweetheart, your mother. I had hoped you would find your way to the graveyard.”
Her
mind had to be playing tricks on her, or perhaps one of the others was. Ebony
turned in a circle, her eyes searched for everyone else.

*oh, chills!
You captured the sweet voice of the mother beautifully: sad but without blame.
Eerie eight, gave me the chills, beautifully described.
This would freak me out. Nice eight.
Good eight!
Oh man, that would totally creep me out. It creeped me out reading it. I'll simply add that I really like being creeped out when reading. Great 8!
OK, SPOOKY! But I must read more! Excellent excerpt...
Oh you've sure got a creepy atmosphere here! This excerpt raises all sorts of questions, and that's a good thing. Really curious what's gonna happen next!
Seems it is not a good idea to go into the graveyard in your book! Great evocative snippet. :-)
I think I'd be out of there quickly. Wonderful excerpt.
Wow, very spooky and intriguing. Excellent job! :)
Ohhh, lovely moment. I love this sort of stuff. Terrific snippet!
Nice! Her stutter-stop as she starts to speak really shows her fear! :-)
Sounds like a friendly ghost, at least.
Oh how creepy! I'd be totally freaking out.
I hope it's a good thing that her mom's talking to her from beyond the grave. Good snippet!
This is my first visit to your blog and the first post I've read. I can tell you that I'm already hooked!
Lovely snippet!
Ooo, spooky! Definitely want to know if she's hallucinating or if her mother is ghost! Great snippet!
That's an attention grabber, now I want to know what's going on.
I stopped by with the A-Z Challenge and this caught my eye since I signed up for Weekend Writing Warriors for the first time yesterday. :)
Looking forward to more visits to learn more about your novel.
