Hello everyone-
The muse still has me, but I'm taking a breather- so I can make a post and hopefully get around to some comments- YAY!
Todays post will be simple Well perhaps for you- but not me LOL
I need some serious help with a pen name. I am only taking one because I'm writing a childrens poetry book and I don't want mothers or kids looking up my real name and finding other things (like those erotica pieces I did a while back). I'm not ashamed of putting my own name on those kinds of things- But I do think it will suit the needs better to have the pen name just incase.
So here are the choices I have come up with, please help me pick one- I'd be most grateful!
1)Donella Night (by the way Donella means brown haired elfin girl)
2) Donella Roswen
3)Jayde Clover
4)Victoria Night
5)Indigo Wolf
6)Jayla Bright
Thanks for all your help and have a fairy great Wednesday!

Jayla Bright sounds pretty, especially for a children's book writer.
Oooh, tough choice. I think my favourite is Number Two: Donella Roswen .
I guess I'd have to vote for #1 but only because you gave a reason for the name. I don't think 4&5 say fairy to me :)

They're all super cute, but I like the first one best!
I'd actually pick Donella Bright. I know it's not on the list, but it sounds lovely.
#1 or #6, I think.
#2 seems like a mouthful.
#3, #4, and #5 feel just a bit like they're almost trying too hard.
p.s. One rule of thumb for pen names: if someone can't say it through a mouthful of latte and scone at the bookstore, think twice. ;)
They are all so good! Pen names are so hard for me. I was lucky to get all my kids names. =)
Jayde Clover is my vote. It has a nice ring to it and doesn't seem fabricated.
#4 if you are looking for a pen name for the erotica; #6 if you are looking for a pen name for the children's.
I like Jayde Clover and Jayla Bright. Those are fun, poetic names for children to remember!
Good luck and have fun picking your pseudonym!
I think the last name Night sounds too much like a romance writer. I would go with either #2 or #6.

Jayde Clover. Awwwww I'm really liking Jayde Clover.
Erotica pieces!??!! Wow!!
Take care

I like Jayde Clover. Easy to say and remember.
Donella Roswen is my favorite.
My favorite is Donella Roswen!
I misread the second and thought it was Donella Rowan, which I really like! I like Jayla Bright too, it has a sparkle about it.
Looks like your're up to 400 followers...yay!!
I see that you’re going to college! Have you heard about the amazing things you can do with CLEP tests? I've taken 17 tests so far: 66 credit hours for about $1,500! I just started a blog that can show mothers, students, and even fairies how to get college credit quickly and affordably with this fantastic resource.

Pick something children can sound out and remember. That way they can get their mothers to buy it from the store.
I tend to agree with Wendy--Victoria Night sounds more like the erotic persona, though I really like how it flows. Indigo Wolf and Jayde Clover sound too made up, like obvious pen names. I like Donella, but not with those last names; they don't quite flow, to me. Roswen also sounds more like an erotic persona to me. I like how Jayla Bright flows, although Bright might sound a TAD too obviously made-up.
Kate said Donella Bright, which I like better than the 2 Donellas you have. ;o) I guess I like Jayla Bright the best. (Jayla Brown? Jayla Greenwold? Jayla Greenward? Jayla Woodlandor Woodlawn or Woodlin?) LOL
I say pick something that will be easy to remember...
Jayla Bright? Nice. I like them all. Helpful, I know.
I like Donella Roswen ... buy why not simplify it... Donella Rose. Kids will love it especially girls.

I like Jayla Bright or Donella Roswen. Both are cute while still sounding like potential names. :)
I like "Jayde Clover." I have nieces with oddly spelled names, and they could relate to someone who never found their name on a trinket at a gift shop.
I like Donella but I have to agree that the two surnames you've paired it with just don't zing. I do like gideon86's suggestion of Donella Rose. Very poetic which is quite fitting.
I'm kind of partial to Victoria but I'm old-fashioned. I'd go with #4.
I like Donella the best, so I'd pick #1 or #2.
I like the Donella Rose idea Michael suggested or maybe Donna Bright - simple to say and read?
Good luck with the writing.
Love Jayla Bright for a children's book. Seems fairy-rific as well.
Funnily enough, I liked Victoria Night.
It feels strong and confident (like a victory), and Night makes me think of the stars, and an amazing otherworld.
I like Jayla Bright. It sounds real, but it's light and easy to say.
If I were a child, I'd pull a Jayla Bright book off the library shelf, read it in one sitting, and then beg my mom to buy me her whole collection.
