If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has many meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue.
A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination.
My word would be Phantasmagoric. ~Summer Ross

Secondary Characters Blogfest

What draws me in about a character is often how unique they are, quick wit, and their own special ticks. This not only holds for main characters, but secondary characters as well. Today is the Secondary Character Blogfest in honor of Rachel celebrating her new book Secondary Characters to release May 28th.

My favorite secondary character is Jenks from Kim Harrison's  Hollows novel series. He's a pixie with a chip on his shoulder hold up with a witch trying not to smudge her aura with black magic doing runs to take down the bad guys and a vampire in lust- all living in a church.

His dialogue always makes me laugh- in general because he references tinker bell in some of the rudest ways. I really like Tinker Bell- but a fairy is bad news to a pixie and Tinker Bell is like a curse word for him. But Jenks is a side kick, granted a little one- but he has mean skills when it comes to a fight.

I haven't read any of Kim Harrison's books, and haven't heard of Jenks for that reason. But he sounds entertaining for sure! Must check him out.

Thanks for stopping by - I am a little bereft since seeing the last season of Medium. ;) I started watching the last season of House after, but then I switched to Sex and the City for something lighter. :P

Adrian in the Vampire Academy series does that for me with his dialogue. He's one of my favorite characters.

Secondary characters like a side kick are important and can help define and challenge the main characters. I wish I knew of this Blogfest.
